Evil Dead Hail to the King
Developer: Heavy Iron Studios
Platforms: Sega Dreamcast, Sony Playstation, PC
Release Date: 12.18.2000
Hail to the King was developed by Heavy Iron Studios and published by THQ. The game featured familiar locales such as the cabin and the woods. The game expaneds with new locations such a nearby town, cemetary, and Ash even gets to travel back in time to the middle ages. Hail to the King also features familiar characters from the films and includes the voiceover and new witty one-liners of Bruce Campbell. The game varied in graphics from the PC version having the best graphics to the Playstation version which had grainy low resolution graphics. Character models were poorly designed and looked nothing liked the characters from the films.
Background environments were a mix bag but overall done well. The game suffered from gameplay issues and various camera problems, which made the game difficult and near unplayable. Hail to the King is worth picking up if only you are a die-hard collector of all things Evil Dead.
