As much as we love Army of Darkness, it’s about time we get some Evil Dead 2 figures! According to Bloody Disgusting NECA has acquired rights to the Evil Dead license:
At this summer’s Con, NECA will share with the world their first prototypes of “Ash” from their Evil Dead 2 LINE, with plans on releasing by October of 2011. No word on what “surprises” are included, but we can only dream of getting some deadites in plastic. And sh*t, why not an Ash figure with “both” hands? Totally kidding….
The Army of Darkness Defense game by Backflip Studios will be available on May 12th for a mere $0.99 cents on the iPhone and $2.99 for the HD iPad version.
Spooky Empire is offering an exclusive Evil Dead poster at this year’s May-Hem event. The poster is a limited edition Evil Dead silk screened poster, featuring artwork by Joe Simko. It will be limited to 100, hand signed and numbered by Joe Simko. Only available at Spooky Empire’s May-Hem.

Looks like yet another Evil Dead iPad and iPhone game is coming soon. This one looks like it will be a shooter. The game is developed by Trigger Apps. Here’s part of the press release:
The deal between Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert’s Ghost House and Trigger Apps marks one of the early attempts at giving fans of a classic movie something fresh in the digital age, while also providing a chance to make additional revenue off it.
NEW YORK — Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert’s Evil Dead is getting a new life in the form of an iPhone and iPad game that will bring the gore and campy humor of the cult classic film into the digital age.
Ghost House Pictures has partnered with Trigger Apps, part of digital marketing firm Trigger, to launch a paid iPhone and iPad game app for the film from the production label’s co-founders. It is one of the early attempts at keeping fans in touch with and making additional revenue off classic movies, which some predict will become a growing business. It also can help classics find new fans.
“This is the first time we’ve taken an older franchise and re-created it,” said Jason Yim, president of Trigger. “A lot of filmmakers we have talked to are interested in doing something similar.”
